I CAN'T Meditate (BEGINNERS Guide To Meditation)

In the past year I’ve guided and facilitated over 100 group meditations. This has been an honour for me, as the impact of meditation on my own life has been undeniable.  

I’ve had many conversations with people who believe they cannot meditate. Their reasons were the exact same as my own reasons that initially turned me off from meditation. But over the years I have found simple solutions to each of those common barriers to meditation, and with this video I wanted to share them with all of you.

Also, if you want a little accountability as you build up your own meditation practice, you should join us for FREE group meditations every week over Zoom. Not only do we meditate as a group, but we also do some fun (private) journaling afterwards. How To Get To Bed Early And Wake Up Early

For the past 3 years I’ve been waking up between 4 AM and 5 AM. In that same time, I’ve also been going to bed at around midnight if not later. 

Yes, I realize that’s not much sleep. Yet somehow I have been really productive. 

But after learning about the science of sleep, I finally decided that 4 to 5 hours of sleep is NOT a good long-term plan for me. 

So for the past 3 months, I’ve been researching and experimenting ways to get my butt to sleep at a decent time. For the most part it’s been very successful. On average I am getting to bed at around 10 PM. This is huge for me. 

Occasionally I still end up falling asleep at midnight, but I’m going for consistency—not perfection. And every week I am getting better at resting my mind, body and soul. 

In this video I share some of my best tricks that have helped me get to bed at a decent time.

33 Day Challenge Starting… Now

I'm feeling a strong urge to RESET. So today I'm starting a 33-day challenge to rewire my brain and my dopamine receptors… which if I'm honest took a bit of a beating these last 2 weeks.

I have tinkered with each of these tasks in 2020, but I’m excited to explore what comes up in a more publicly accountable 33-day challenge. 

Here is my NO-list for the next 33 days:

  1. No semen release (yes, you read that correctly)

  2. No phones past 8pm

  3. No phones before 8am

  4. No Netflix

  5. No TikTok

  6. No work past 8pm

  7. No Instagram (besides content creation + DMs)

And here is my YES-list for the next 33 days:

  1. Yes morning meditation

  2. Yes evening meditation

  3. Yes daily journaling (AKA Morning Pages)

  4. Yes yoga

  5. Yes walks in nature

  6. Yes reading daily

  7. Yes buying a flip phone (with no apps)
